Antisemitism

There are various definitions of the term “anti-Semitism.” At their core, they all share the common element of hostility toward Jewish individuals, institutions, or organizations, which manifests itself more or less openly. Very few of those who have internalized anti-Semitic prejudices have ever encountered “a Jewish woman” or “a Jewish man” in everyday life or know anything about Judaism and its history. The problem with anti-Semitism is that it functions without real people. It is based on stereotypes about “Jews.” Anti-Semitism thus takes various forms and operates independently of the behavior of Jewish people; it is a projection of those who hold anti-Semitic views.”
