The WiSo-Faculty warmly invites you to a workshop on unconscious bias that offers new perspectives and practical impulses into the diversity‑sensitive design of appointment procedures. Unconsciousbiases subconsciously influence our perceptions, interactions and decisions, which is why it is advisable to engage with them before making important decisions and to handle them consciously. The workshop aims to raise awareness of the way unconscious biasworks and to reflect on its impact on decisions within the appointment process.
Contents:
•State of research and knowledge building on unconscious bias with a focus on hiring and appointment procedures
•Prevention and intervention strategies at the individual and structural level through the application of bias management tools and methods
The workshop, led by sociologist, gender researcher and educationalist Dr. Lisa Mittischek, is specifically addressed at current or potential future members of appointment committees.
