Student assistant positition for first generation students
Do you come from a non-academic familybackground (so-called 1st generation students) and would like to do academic work during your Bachelor's degree at the University of Cologne?
Are you a professor or head of a junior research group and would like to support the academic career of a first generation student through an employment as a student assistant?
Then apply together for the financing of a student assistant position (SHK). The SHK positions have a scope of 8,97 hours per week (39 hours/month) and are funded for a maximum of two consecutive semesters, starting in the summer term 2026.
The aim of the programme is to facilitate access to the scientific system for students who come from a non-academic familybackground and studying for a Bachelor's degree programme or a degree programme with the aim of taking their first (state) examination. As well as to support their motivation for an academic career by linking them to a chair/research institution/ junior research group at an early stage. At the same time, the financing of the studies is supported by a study-related activity.
— The next application phase starts in autumn 2025. Further information will follow shortly. —
