With the Jenny Gusyk "Innovation Award" in the amount of 3,000 euros, the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty of Philosophy, PD Dr.'. Kirsten Schindler and her colleagues Sabrina Schumacher and Lena Mertens for the introduction of a "Family Day". The innovative and sustainable measure implemented by the prize winners is based on the theme "Compatibility of family and career/study": people with family responsibilities, their children and the participating institutes and institutions are strengthened, networked and supported.

The Jenny Gusyk "Young Talent Award" in the amount of 1,000 euros was awarded to Sara Tewelde-Negassi from the Faculty of Philosophy for her outstanding state examination work in the field of Gender & Queer Studies - "The Motif of the Machine-Woman Reconsidered: Towards a Female Cyborg in Eve of Destruction" (1991), "Ex_Machina" (2015) and "Her" (2013). Through the cinematic processing of her work, Sara Tewelde Negassi looks into fictional-cinematic visions of our future. Their well-founded analysis makes it clear how difficult it is, especially with regard to the gender issue, to break away from traditional images and stereotypes and shows possibilities of "alternative" gender concepts and gender relations.

This year's Jenny Gusyk Prize "Family-Friendly Leadership" in the amount of 1,000 euros was awarded to Professor Dr. med. Bernd W. Böttiger, Director of the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital of Cologne, who as a manager has assumed responsibility for the creation, maintenance and continuous development of a family-friendly and supportive culture in his clinic team. The sub-projects are worth mentioning: the reintegration of mothers and fathers after parental leave, a family-friendly work schedule and family-friendly holiday planning.
